Organizational Development: Analysis and Intervention
- The core of organizational development is understanding the relationship between the technical systems (work) and the social systems (cultural, values, individual styles and needs) of the organization.
- The typical OD engagement entails (1) an assessment conducted with the members of the target unity or sub-system, (2) working with the sub-system to arrive at a satisfactory and powerful explanation of what is going on, (3) reaching agreement with the members of the unit as to how best to proceed, and (4) implementing that agreed upon actions/interventions.
