Terry Pickett, Ph. D., is president of Terry Pickett & Associates. He has provided professional consultation to a wide range of national and regional business and professional organizations for over thirty-five years. He specializes in communication-based organizational development with special emphasis on effective personal relationships, social-technical work design, team development, and leadership effectiveness.
He served as the Senior Quality Consultant in the Performance Improvement Group at Iowa State University. In this capacity he directed high employee involvement, work design, and quality improvement efforts. He was also an Associate Professor of Organizational Communication in the Communication Program at the University. He specialized in organizational, business and professional communication.
Terry is a native of Kansas City, Missouri, has resided in Peoria, IL, Lawrence, KS, Pittsburgh, PA, Ames, IA, and is presently located in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Prior to his current posts, he held full time faculty positions at Iowa State University, the University of Pittsburgh, and Rockhurst College. He also taught at Bradley University and the University of Kansas. He was a general partner in Alan Lawrence Associates, a human resource development consultation firm.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Philosophy from Rockhurst College, a Master of Arts in Communication from Bradley University, and a Ph. D. in Communication and Human Relations from the University of Kansas.
